In today's computer world, regular telephones are replaced by the VoIP technology. The VoIP technology has a couple of advantages over regular telephony. This simple Windows application allows calling to any regular telephone number, but also supports chatting using instant messages. The application is very simple to install, having a familiar Windows installation wizard. For this, he should enter his username, password and email address. After completing this step, one can start adding contacts to the program's interface.

This can be done in several ways, either by manually entering the name of the contact or by importing the list of contacts from other similar applications, like Yahoo Messenger, ICQ or MSN Messenger. The program also allows adding friends from Facebook.

After completing this step, one will be able to start chatting with a friend just by double clicking on his name. Optionally, he can use various emoticons to express a certain feeling. But the true power of Goober Messenger doesn't lie in instant messaging, but in making phone calls. As such, one just needs to type in the desired phone number, including the country code, and the program will immediately initiate a call.

For making sure that the phone calls will work properly, the user should navigate to the options section of the program and check his audio settings regarding the speakers and microphone. Using the same section, one can also customize the program's functionality and appearance. Besides making calls or chatting with friends, Goober Messenger can also display the news feed for a Facebook or Twitter account. One should only enter his username and password for this account in order to access this feature.
